They took there instruments and some borrowed hand drums to a small picnic shelter where they played unamplified in the midst of the soggy crowd in an intimate and unforgettable fashion for the first 7 tracks. I remember seeing the tapers hovering near the band trying to not get too close to the drums, yet far enough from the party to get a decent recording. They captured a special moment of a band that was coming into rare form and flexible enough to still put on a great show, and a young festival that was struggling against the elements. The recording starts to get a little skippy/digital noise in the last 3 tracks, but the historical significance of the recording deemed it worthy of uploading. Enjoy.
