Right after they released a self-produced album, "Run Mountain" in 1970, they met Charles R Freeland, the president of Rebel Records at that time. Freeland was so impressed with this band that he invited them to the States. In 1971 the Bluegrass 45 toured the States performing at numerous Bluegrass festivals, on the stage of Grand Ole Opry and many Country music shows as an opening act for such luminaries as Merle Haggard, Jerry Lee Lewis, Conway Twitty, Loretta Lynn and Roy Acuff. They were featured in a movie, "Bluegrass - Country Soul", which was filmed at the Carlton Haney's festival in Campsprings, NC. They released two albums on Rebel Records before returning home. ************************* The Bluegrass Alliance 09/??/1971 (Labor Day Weekend) Camp Springs Bluegrass Festival Reidsville, NC Ebo Walker - bass Courtney Johnson - banjo Tony Rice - guitar Sam Bush - mandolin Lonnie Pierce - fiddle Disc 1 Set 1 1.
