The Gibson Brothers, St. Anne's Churchyard, 2016 Lowell Folk Festival, Lowell, MA, July 31, 2016, incomplete audience recording. This was recorded with Zoom H4N with internal mics, stereo setting, 44.1/16 mode. H4N lined into computer by USB, wav sent to Magix Audio Cleaning Lab 12. Magix program was used for track markings, and volume increase as well as shaving off before and after show noise. Flac created with Trader's Little Helper, SBE (there were none) and torrent work also done with TLH. At times, it is a clear A+, a perfect sounding representation, but there is wind, and the wind sounds heavy at times, particularly during track 10. As you can tell, I arrived a little after their set started, and I'm not sure how much I missed - I would guess 10-15 minutes. As everybody on the lawn in front of the band has chairs and blankets and stuff, it would've been way uncool to just go stand front and center, so I stood off to the side, about 10 feet away from the JBLs (I included photos, mostly to show my recording spot, but also to show how nice of a place to see this sort of thing it was - they don't show the Brothers to any useful level). It was raining lightly when I got there, but it had stopped by the time it was over. All in all, great set, and my first real attempt at recording something with my new H4N. I also recorded Lurrie Bell's complete set, and that doesn't have the wind issues at all. Don't sell, try not to circulate as lossy. Enjoy!
