Here's the lowdown...This show was recorded using 8 stage mikes so pardon the quality. But what it may lack in sonic quality it makes up for in its attack, warp factor pickin' and good 'ol high country hoin' down. This is how it went down...the previous night, Saturday March 15th 1997, Leftover Salmon played a show at the Fox Theater in Boulder and Larry Keel & the boys from Magraw Gap crashed the show. The next night Magraw Gap played The Moontime Bar & Grille in Nederland, Colorado(alt.8230) and certain members of Leftover Salmon, who shall remain nameless, returned the favor. This is the only known recording of that show to survive, it comes from a master cassette, made off the original DAT, that has only been played 4-5 times in 16 years. The original DAT was recorded over(not by me, mind you) after I made the only copy... It was a late winter, snow packed Sunday night at The Moontime that night...about 50 people witnessed this craziness...and every one of them was on The Bus during the setbreak...what you've got here is what happened after that frigid high country siesta...shear Bluegrass insanity...multiple Mandos, bi-curious Banjos, galloping Gitfiddles and some sweet high and lonesome vocals...just a bunch cracked-out Colorado Jamgrass freeks getting high on the sweet Bluegrass in the rarefied air...Enjoy.Lou Carranza This release is dedicated to the memory of Mark Vann.
