Nanci Griffith Solo Acoustic Houston, TX 1980 exact date/venue unknown SBD This is a revised/expanded reseed of a torrent from September 2011. I've renamed the files, added to/slightly edited the info, and added (most of) the rest of the show from another torrent. Tracks 1-18 of this were originally uploaded by Bridger on Sept 5, 2011 as "Nanci Griffith Solo Acoustic 1979 SBD". It turned out they were actually the first 18 of 23 tracks of a show from Houston, TX 1980 (the exact date/venue are unknown), and that the songs missing were tracks 1-5 of a torrent of Folkscene Nov 27, 1983, which had been uploaded by Bridger the day before, and which has been reseeded by alnino at: http://www.dimeadozen.org/torrents-details.php?id=475406 Those five tracks have been included with this reseed as tracks 19-23, so if you've downloaded the Folkscene torrent you just need to add them to this folder and change the file names, or copy and paste them here to continue seeding the Folkscene torrent. For a possible date for the Houston show, someone suggested February 28 or March 1, 1980 at Anderson Fair based on an article at: http://blogs.houstonpress.com/rocks/2009/03/lonesome_onry_and_mean_a_brief.php Note: t19-23 don't fit perfectly; there's some audio missing between tracks 18 and 19 The lineage for all 23 tracks is: cd-r trade>me>EAC>traders little helper>you ************************************************************************************** From the previous upload: "I got this Nanci Griffith in a trade and can't find any info on so help is appreciated for this one.The skinny. On the track 4 intro she states that BF Deal Records went out of business either on January 1 this year or January of this year so I'm figuring 1979.Now on one of the later songs she makes a comment about how you tell people your voting for John Anderson and nobody will speak to you. So if Anderson is running for President that's circa 1980 ish so that would be around 1979 as the election is 1980 so he would announce it before hand.As to venue it's small and a handful of people and it sounds kinda give and take with the audience which means small place. Now that I think about it I think I have the album Poet in My Window on Feather Records. I don't remember.Anyway this could be a cassette recording of an album as you can hear vinyl but also a tape in that while recording the album the needle went into the red so you can hear the distortion.Only in bits and bobs not like whole entire songs. Can't find hide nor hare of info about this recording anywhere. No trade lists no sites no homepages no nothing. Yet here it is. A lot of oddball Nanci acoustic on this one so help with the setlist is apppreciated... Oh and the tunes are not from the Kerrville Folk Festival compilation as the comments she makes demonstrate that she is not playing there. Also along the same lines the tunes are not from that BF Deal record. So lineage goes cd-r trade>me>EAC>traders little helper>you.. Killer Nanci Griffith here." ************************************************************************************** 1.
