The fade down after Helena was due to changing discs.

This was the final performance of Nickel Creek's "Farewll (For Now)" tour and it was quite fitting that the last two shows were at the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville, TN. The show was absolutely stunning and contained a host of special guests as you would expect. There was talk of these final two shows being recorded professionaly with a DVD being the end-product. Sadly, these plans were scrapped as the show grew closer. I had not planned on taking my recording gear - but, realized this was a performance that needed to be documented. This was my first time seeing a show at the Ryman from the balcony and I was very impressed with the view and the acoustics. The first 45 seconds of "Ode To A Butterfly" are a bit "crinkly" as I was getting the microphone set up. After that, the rest of the night was smooth sailing with very few peripheral noises with the exception of the occasional cough, chatter, etc. I think you will enjoy the sound quality of the recording - but most importantly the performance itself.
