Richard Thompson Big Band Half Moon Putney, London England 1984.09.24 RECORDED USING SONY WD6 Professional Walkman Sony ECM 909 MIC maxell XL90 cassettes Played from Dennon DRM 22 deck TO Adobe Audition, Slight hiss reduction/tracks split/fades/wavs saved as FLAC level 8 FLAC fingerprint file in Traders Little helper This is my favourite RT Band recording from the 83-84 era, a packed sweaty back room at the Half Moon, and the legend - Dave Mattacks on drums. I think I was fairly near the front as there is not that much crowd noise. By this time I had used a Pro Walkman for about 4-5 months and so had learned to be cautious with record levels. Fortunately the band opened with a real blinder at full volume, so that level did me more or less for the whole gig. My usual fast tape flip during the applause after She Twists the Knife again didn't work on this occasion - I must have had a problem. Dave Mattacks was on thunderous form that night. I do remember seeing a guy cursing after 45 minutes because he'd left his recorder on pause!
