Lineage, 

pre 1998 i used a pretty basic panasonic recorder RVQ50 paired with the sony ECM 150 mic, I got a tech guy to add a basic volume pot so i could raise or lower levels but it was hit and miss as there was no recording indication on the deck,  despite that ,this is surprisingly good considering the deck I used , there is s little bit of fuzziness on vocals at times, some bass overload ( Danny was LOUD ) , but other than that its very listenable
