This tape features the tail end of an evening set by the Seldom Scene on July 29, and most of their July 30 set (which continues on Cassette #185). The band on July 29 includes John Duffey (mandolin), Mike Auldrige (Dobro), Ben Eldridge (banjo), Tom Gray (bass), and to my ears, John Starling (guitar), although Phil Rosenthal (guitar) is found in Starling's place the following day. --Mitchell Wittenberg
