On My Mind (x) Anonymous Collection 1 Cassette #199 features two sets from the June-1978 Bean Blossom Bluegrass Festival, Bean Blossom, IN: 1) Bill Harrell & The Virginians (Bill Harrell-guitar, Carl Nelson-fiddle, Darrell Sanders-banjo, & Ed Ferris-bass); Harrell really shows his Mac Wiseman influences during this set (although the sound on several tunes is somewhat marred by tape hum and sound fluctuations), and 2) Lester Flatt & The Nashville Grass (Lester Flatt-guitar, Charlie Nixon-Dobro, Marty Stuart-mandolin & guitar, Blake Williams-banjo, Clarence "Tater" Tate-fiddle, Curly Seckler-guitar, & Pete Corum-bass; Mike Cupid guests on vocals). Stuart was 19 years old at the time, and he later went on to country music stardom; he demonstrates his flatpicking prowess on several tunes, especially "I Don't Love Nobody". --Mitchell Wittenberg side a: Lester Flatt & The Nashville Grass side b: Bill Harrell & The Virginians (continued) tracks 1-3 Lester Flatt & The Nashville Grass tracks 4-11
