Three Fellas (x) Notes: spps-anon001-C203-Rowan Anonymous Collection 1 Cassette Tape #203 Listed as "Peter Rowan & Red Hot Pickers 1978-11-xx JAPAN" Anonymous Collection Cassette #203 features Peter Rowan with The Red Hot Pickers (Richard Greene-fiddle, Tony Trischka-banjo, Andy Statman-mandolin, & Roger Mason-bass) performing in Tokyo, Japan in November 1978 (this was likely recorded early in the month, as the group performed in Sapporo on 11/6/78). Rowan mentions their having recorded several LPs for Columbia Japan the night before this performance; "Bluegrass Album" and "Hiroshima Mon Amour" have been reissued, in part, by Sugar Hill Records as "Peter Rowan with The Red Hot Pickers". The first set and several solo and small group tunes are found on this tape. This unique group was short-lived and few tapes of them circulate, making this a nice one for the Rowan collectors out there. --Mitchell Wittenberg
