Anonymous Collection Cassette #243 features Bill Monroe & His Blue Grass Boys (Kenny Baker-fiddle, Jack Hicks-banjo, Joe Stuart-guitar, & Monroe Fields-bass) performing in New York City in 1972. While Side A has reasonable fidelity, Side B of the cassette is marred by technical problems--two recordings are superimposed on one another, rendering this side un-listenable. Fiddle great Tex Logan is introduced as a guest at the end of Side A, but we miss out on the chance to hear much of his prowess as "Cotton-Eyed Joe" is cut at tape's end. --Mitchell Wittenberg Anonymous Collection Cassette #243 Bill Monroe & His Blue Grass Boys Unknown Venue New York, NY 1972 1.
