Train 45 (Hot Rize) Anonymous Collection Cassette #315 transports us back to March 6, 1981 at the Philadelphia Bluegrass & Old Time Music Festival, Philadelphia, PA for two performances: 1) the wonderfully eclectic and multi-talented Red Clay Ramblers (Tommy Thompson, Mike Craver, Jack Herrick, Jim Watson, & Clay Buckner), and 2) Hot Rize/Red Knuckles & the Trailblazers (Tim O'Brien, Nick Forster, Pete "Dr. Banjo" Wernick, & Charles Sawtelle); Jerry Douglas guests on a couple of tunes. Not many Red Clay Rambler recordings circulate, making this a nice collector's item. The sound may not be top-drawer, but the playing more than makes up for it. See Collection Cassette #316 for more sets from this festival. --Mitchell Wittenberg Notes: Listed as "Red Clay Ramblers, Hot Rize, 1981-March-06 Philadelphia Bluegrass & Old Time Music Festival" This sounds like a handheld audience recording.
