The energy was pretty high from the get-go but it wasn't until setbreak that people really filled up the place. Oh, and this was the first night I ever met my now great friend Bob Troutman! The Ritz is (now was) a really tiny club with a small stage angled into a corner. The poolroom was a little further back, the bar was over to the left (facing the stage), and the wooden floor was a joy to dance on -- very easy on the legs. The boys played there a few more times before moving to larger venues, but I still look back on these days as some of the sweetest because the band came through 4 times a year like clockwork. Who knows, maybe one of these days we'll get to pull off some tiny club show by giving the band some absurd moniker, but if not at least this show will give you the feel of what it was like to hear the band play a small club to maybe 150 people. Honey, Are You Mad... Honey, Are You Mad?!... HONEY, ARE YOU MAD?!?!" -- 'Ruby' "And you said our music had no drums..." -- Jeff, on the knocking sound of a bad mando cable http://www.YonderMountain.com
