Whitewash Chimney > Angeline The Baker// This is a fun hour of "progressive bluegrass" with some fun originals, some unusual covers and mash ups, and some lovely harmonies. Sidesaddle was formed in 1979 as an "all girl" bluegrass band, but in 1993 it went co-ed and the name changed to Sidesaddle & Co. The composition of the band seems to have turned over completely by the 2000's and they disbanded in 2013. This evening, the musicians were: Kim Elking - mandolin Lee Anne Caswell - fiddle Jackie Miller - guitar Beth McNamara - bass, vocals Bob Smith - banjo Craig? - maybe, and maybe others. This recording was the second half of a DAT marked "Harmony Gritts Kuumbwa Jazz 1993-01-08." Sidesaddle played that venue both before and after 1993, and there's also a reference between songs to Santa Cruz and to it being early in the new year. But there's also a reference to "1994" and there's actually nothing tying this recording to Kuumbwa, either, except the label on the DAT. So, who knows. Enjoy! --mhg :: 2021-05-04
