Flower Blooming in the Wildwood (x) Tut Taylor Archive Cassette #044 graces us with a circa-1973 performance by Norman Blake, Tut Taylor, and Charlie Collins at the Old Time Pickin' Parlor, Nashville, TN. While the fidelity of this tape is only fair (Side B sounds crisper than Side A), Norman performs a number of rarities (e.g., Ian Tyson's 'Red Velvet'). It seems that he was still working out the titles to some of his tunes as well; 'Coming Down From Rising Fawn' is titled 'Johnson's Crook' in this performance, and when he does play a newly composed tune he refers to as 'Coming Down From Rising Fawn', it is not the tune titled as such on 'The Fields of November' or 'Rising Fawn String Ensemble'; this song remains unreleased. This performance starts on Side B, continuing on Side A; the entire performance in not included. Enjoy this one, despite the less-than-stellar sound. --Mitchell Wittenberg
