Tut Taylor Archive Cassette #60 was recorded at the 1994 IBMA Convention, Owensboro, KY. Tut is showing off (and trying to sell) J.D. Crowe's 1933 (?) Gibson banjo that has come back into his hands again after he first sold it to Crowe in 1974 (Crowe then sold it in 1984, and Tut reacquired it again several weeks before this tape was recorded). Several players get their turns trying it out: Sammy Shelor (of Virginia Squires and Lonesome River Band fame), Richard Smith, Chris Geary, Pete Kuykendall, and John Hartford. --Mitchell Wittenberg
