Tut Taylor Archive Reel #175 is labeled "Practice w/ Vassar-Norman, Sam-Butch, Charlie C."
While Tut, Vassar Clements, Norman Blake, Butch Robins, and Charlie Collins are involved, 
I'm not quite sure about Sam Bush (I never hear his voice).  This is a similar cast of 
characters (without Jethro Burns and Dave Holland) who recorded the mid-1970 LP "HDS 
Sessions", although I suspect that since none of the songs contained here found their 
way to that LP, that perhaps this is a rehearsal session for Tut's "Dobrolic Plectal 
Society" LP, which contains "Griffith Mandolin Society" and "Ruff' N Ready" (Tut, Blake, 
Robins, & Bush appear on this fine LP).  The tail end of Disc One is marred by some 
technical difficulties.  If you are seeking the best takes, try these: Disc One--track 
13, and Disc Two-tracks 14, 16, & 19.

	The tape is a 7.5 inch per second stereo recording.  The reel was baked at
145 degrees for 4 hours and played on a modified Revox A77 reel-to-reel machine
with a Reutelhuber custom designed and built tape head preamplifier incorporating
2003 era technology and components including all metal film resistors, polypropelene
coupling capacitors, and low ESR electrolytic supply bypass capacitors.  The resulting
analog signal was digitized by a Mytek Digital 8X96 analog to digital converter using
Steinberg Nuendo as the recording software and saved as a 24 bit 48 kHz wave file.  

	Post processing and was done by David Avery with Nuendo using the 
following Waves Plugins: Q10, X-Hum, S1 Shuffler and L3.  The file was dithered
down to a 16 bit/44.1kHz wave file.
