The bar at the Hampton had a Dead Cover Band playing He's Gone as I walked in. Went out to the patio and looked across the street and saw Vince Herman On the loading dock. Told Stacy and Andy, I'm going over and tape a late night jam and headed to the loading dock. Vince and I looked at each other with that "are you ready to tape look". I said Let's Do This! We grabbed 5 chairs inside the door which was back stage of the Woodward Theatre. I sat in the circle of musicians and hit record at 11:30. We had a circle of 14 musicians and a shitload of fans, well over 100 all around. I took the time to edit out some dead space in between songs This was totally uunplugged, but came out pretty damn good! As a taper, this is the kind of recording I live for as I ended up with about 2 1/2 hours of entertainment! Taping Leftover Salmon for 30 years now, and as a result, I have pulled a few of these magical recording sessions!
